01
Every mirror has a vault.
For each approved coin, say TOKEN on Base, there is a Solana token called mTOKEN and a Mirror vault on Base. The vault holds real TOKEN. mTOKEN only exists when the same amount of TOKEN has been locked first, so every mTOKEN is backed 1:1.
You never touch Base. You hold mTOKEN in your Solana wallet and trade it with SOL, at Solana speed.
02
Solvers move the coins. You just trade.
Solvers are market makers. They buy the real coin on its home chain, lock it in the vault, and mint the same amount of the mirror on Solana. You can also mint directly through a solver: pay SOL and receive the mirror in about 20 seconds, which is useful for large sizes where the pool would move the price.
Minting
- 01 · SOLANAYou pay SOLOr a solver mints on its own account
- 02 · BASESolver buys TOKENOn the origin chain, at market
- 03 · BASETOKEN locked in the vaultDeposit confirmed and attested
- 04 · SOLANAmTOKEN mintedSame amount, ~20 seconds end to end
Redeeming
- 01 · SOLANAYou burn mTOKENSupply on Solana goes down
- 02 · BASEVault releases TOKENSame amount, minus 0.20%
- 03 · BASETOKEN sent to youAt the address you give
Redeeming is the mint in reverse. Any holder can burn a mirror and receive the real coin at an address they give on the origin chain. Or skip all of that and swap back to SOL instantly in the pool.
03
Why the prices stay together.
Mirrors trade in Solana pools (mTOKEN/SOL), so their price is set by buyers and sellers on Solana. When it drifts from the origin price, there is free money for whoever closes the gap, and solvers are built to do exactly that.
Mirror above origin
Mirror trades 2% above the origin
Solvers mint fresh mTOKEN at the origin price and sell it in the pool.
The mirror price falls back in line.
Mirror below origin
Mirror trades 2% below the origin
Solvers buy cheap mTOKEN in the pool and redeem it for real TOKEN.
The mirror price rises back in line.
The bigger the gap, the bigger the profit, so gaps close fast. The live spread is shown on every chart.
04
Proof of reserves, live.
Every mirror will show the vault balance on its origin chain next to the mirror supply on Solana, with the time of the last attestation. An attestation is a signed reading of both numbers. When they match, the mirror is fully backed.
A vault can dip below 100% for a short time, between a mint on Solana and the attestation of the matching deposit. Those moments are flagged openly, never hidden.
Vaults and attestations go live with the first mirrors, and will be published here.
05
Easy to list. Safe to hold.
Anyone can request a mirror. The bar is low on purpose: a coin only has to pass four required checks that protect the vault. Two more checks are advisory and only show a warning. Listed mirrors keep being checked and can be paused if the origin token changes.
- At least $10K of liquidityRequired
Solvers need some depth on the home chain to buy coins for the vault and sell them back.
- Can be soldRequired
Honeypots that block selling would trap the vault, so redemptions could never be paid.
- No blacklist or pause functionRequired
If the token owner could freeze addresses or pause transfers, they could lock the vault and block redemptions.
- Tax of 5% or lessRequired
A big buy or sell tax eats into the vault every time a solver mints or redeems.
- Verified contractAdvisory
Public, verified source code means anyone can read what the token can do. Recommended, not required.
- Top 10 holders below 50%Advisory
Very concentrated supply means one sale can crash the price. Shown as a warning, not a blocker. Pools and burn addresses are excluded.
What still keeps a coin out. A mirror only works if the vault can always buy, hold and release the real coin. Honeypots that can’t be sold, and blacklist or pause functions, let a token trap the vault and everyone holding the mirror. A heavy tax eats into the vault on every mint and redeem, so only small taxes are allowed.
06
Fees
All fees can be changed by $MIRR votes.
| Action | Fee | Goes to |
|---|---|---|
| Swap in a Mirror pool | 0.30% | 50% LPs · 25% solvers · 25% stakers |
| Mint through a solver | 0.20% | Solver, with a share to stakers |
| Redeem for the real coin | 0.20% | Solver, with a share to stakers |
| Origin-chain gas | — | Paid by the solver, included in the quote |
07
The role of $MIRR.
$MIRR stakers receive a share of protocol fees and vote on listing parameters: the liquidity threshold, the holder concentration limit, pause rules and fee levels. Fee share depends on volume and can be zero.
08
Risks, plainly.
Mirror makes other chains’ memecoins easy to trade. It does not make them safe. Before you trade, understand these:
The origin coin can go to zero
A mirror tracks its origin coin exactly. If TOKEN falls 90% on Base, mTOKEN falls 90% on Solana. Backing protects the link to the real coin, not its price.
Cross-chain and custody risk
Real coins sit in vaults on other chains, and minting and redeeming rely on solvers and attestations crossing between chains. A failure in any of those could delay or block redemptions.
Mirror prices can briefly differ
Mirrors trade in their own Solana pools. In fast markets the price can drift from the origin before solvers close the gap, so you might buy a little high or sell a little low.
Smart contract risk
Vaults, pools and mint contracts are software. Bugs or exploits could lose funds, even after audits.
Listing changes
If an origin token changes (adds a tax, a blacklist or a pause), its mirror can be paused for trading. Redemptions are designed to stay open.
